| Hello, my name is Richard Neidermyer, and welcome. |

|
| I have had a life long love of horses, which is now being translated into a
growing horse training career. In 2005 to further my career as a horse
trainer I attended the year long natural horse training apprenticeship program
offered by Clay Harper and Sandy Carpenter-Rose. (See the links page for
their web sites.) |
| There are a lot of "Natural
Horse" trainers out there and there are a lot of horse trainers out
there as well. All of them have developed their own unique style of
training that suits them best. In developing my training skills I am
always interested in learning new ways to train horses. Sometimes
this involves learning a new technique for a specific problem or it is a
whole new approach to accomplish a given task. Trainers will use the
tools they are most comfortable with such as Handy Sticks or Carrot
Sticks, Ropes, lunge lines, training halters, and the list goes on.
I will use any number of these tools depending upon what the horse tells
me it needs.
Every horse is different. Each has its own personality.
Quirky, Inquisitive, Shy, Assertive/Aggressive, Highly Spirited, Spooky,
Fearful, and Lazy. So the method of training each horse has to be
adjusted to fit the horse. But every method begins and ends with
pressure and release as well as desensitization, the standards of natural
horse training. |
|
I currently offer the following training services:
|
|
Colt Starting (90 day minimum) |
|
Problem Horses |
|
On-Site Training |
|
Clinics |
|
| I am also very active in showing in multiple
disciplines. I show Western Pleasure, Speed Events, Trail, and
Working Ranch. I have one of my own horses being shown this year at
some shows, while another will be shown extensively. And I am
starting one of my horses in Reining. Come on out to a show and
introduce yourself. |
